Ed Adams
  President

Ed has over 15 years experience in international finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business development. Prior to co-founding Affinitext, Ed was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Technology for Mirant Corporation, at one time a Fortune 100 corporation and the leading gas marketer in the United States. At Mirant, Ed had responsibility for a 300 person IT organization delivering all the voice and data technology for the corporation. Ed also had responsibility for operational analysis and reporting, strategic and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and new business development, where Ed and his team successfully developed and executed four new business concepts.

Prior to Mirant, Ed was the Chief Financial Officer for Southern Energy Asia Pacific (SEAP) the Asian subsidiary of Southern Company, the largest electric utility in the United States. At SEAP Ed was responsible for the integration of a $2.6 billion acquisition. He built and led the corporate finance and related business development functions for this multi-national organization during its growth from $36 million to $200 million in net income and employee growth from 600 to 1200. Ed’s overall scope of responsibility included general accounting, treasury, budgeting, risk management, cash management, tax, reporting, and internal audit. During Ed’s time in Asia he was involved in several billion dollar project financings as well as managing three multi-million dollar disputes. It was during this period of having to manage very complex contract disputes that Ed became convinced of the need for a product like Affinitext.

Prior to SEAP, Ed held the roles of Project Finance Manager and Director of Corporate Finance at another Southern company subsidiary. In total Ed has completed more than $2 billion of international bank and capital market financings and more than $1.5 billion of acquisitions and or divestitures for the Southern Companies.

Ed also has worked as an Assistant Vice President at First Financial Management Corporation, as an Associate for Chase Manhattan Bank and prior to Graduate school as a Systems Engineer for Data General.

Ed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
