Prior to co-founding Affinitext, Ed was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Technology for Mirant Corporation, at one time a Fortune 100 corporation and the leading gas marketer in the United States. At Mirant, Ed had responsibility for a 300 person IT organization delivering all the voice and data technology for the corporation. Ed also had responsibility for operational analysis and reporting, strategic and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and new business development, where Ed and his team successfully developed and executed four new business concepts.
Prior to Mirant, Ed was the Chief Financial Officer for Southern Energy Asia Pacific (SEAP) the Asian subsidiary of Southern Company, the largest electric utility in the United States. At SEAP Ed was responsible for the integration of a $2.6 billion acquisition. In total Ed has completed more than $2 billion of international bank and capital market financings and more than $1.5 billion of acquisitions and or divestitures for the Southern Companies.
