Last week, Affinitext had the privilege of attending the MEED Saudi Giga Projects 2025 summit in Riyadh — a gathering that not only showcased the Kingdom’s extraordinary ambition but also served as a reminder of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with delivering projects on this scale.

Alongside my colleague Graham Thomson (when he wasn’t off at the US-Saudi Investment Forum rubbing shoulders with the likes of Donald Trump, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and global business leaders), we joined infrastructure leaders, government decision-makers, investors, and contractors to discuss the future being built under the banner of Vision 2030.

What stood out most across the sessions was the collective clarity of purpose. This isn’t transformation for transformation’s sake — it’s a coordinated effort to reshape the Saudi economy, elevate quality of life, and position the Kingdom as a global hub for innovation, tourism, and investment.
